Students from Canyon Springs, in cooperation with the Metropolitan Police Department, the North Las Vegas police and fire departments, as well as other agencies from around the valley, staged a drive-by shooting to demonstrate the real results of violence and how it affects students, teachers, and parents when it occurs in our community. The video produced by the team of Misael Parra, Demetius Pipkin, Trevor Royer, Stephen Barris and Robert Cutts was shown the same afternoon to the entire school at a special assembly. Students from our school developed the idea for this simulation, based on the Every Fifteen Minutes DUI simulation.
